Human Resources Manager
Judy commenced her employment with CEC Group as Payroll Officer in June 2004. With her
warm-hearted and personable approach to staff, it wasn’t long before we realised what an important asset she is to the company. Thanks to the rapid expansion of the group, we could quickly let her move on to the next step in her career. Judy was promoted to HR Coordinator of the newly formed Human Resources Department in November of 2004, then to Senior HR Consultant in early 2007, and is now the HR Manager, where she oversees the HR/payroll department with six employees reporting to her. It’s a position that suits Judy perfectly and keeps her VERY busy!

Survey Manager
When it comes to accuracy, precision and attention to detail, there is no one that knows how important this is better than Spike. Having joined the company as a surveyor in 2001, Spike has since been promoted to Survey Manager. He is responsible for controlling
the set out, detailing and processing of data for our civil engineering projects such as residential estates, infrastructure and special projects, and no one does it better than Spike! Always with a smile on his face wherever you see him, whether it’s sweating it out in the blazing sun, or doing boundary surveying, that big cheeky grin and a big hello are never far away!
Estimating Manager
Look at the list of our top ten long-standing employees, and you find Robert Grigg right among
the best of the best. His employment history dates back to 1988, when he commenced his career with CEC Group as a Contract Administrator. Since then, he has quickly progressed through the ranks, and today he holds the title of Estimating Manager; heading a team of estimators in the Cairns office. You’d have to look hard for a better leader. Robert’s willingness to help others and jovial personality make him an invaluable asset to our Constructions division.
Payroll Department
Meet two of the most important (and popular) people in the company – our payroll ladies, Christine and Judy. If there was an employee award for hard and super efficient work we know who in the company would get it. Each week, these friendly ladies have the massive job of ensuring that some 350+ employees across 10 subsidiary companies in Cairns, Townsville, Mt Isa, Cooktown and surrounds get paid. Quietly tucked away in their office, they power through mounds of work day after day, ever so efficiently like Santa’s little helpers. And on Thursdays, they wander the buildings, saying g’day to everyone and handing out payslips with a smile. No wonder Christine and Judy are loved by all!
Resource Coordination Manager
Just as his name implies, this man really is true blue. A good and loyal mate, Blue Scanlan’s employment history with CEC Group is almost as old as the company itself. He originally commenced with Cairns Pipeline Contractors, one of our subsidiary companies, some 26 years
ago. Since then, his commitment and dedication has seen Blue climb through the ranks of the construction division to his current position of Resource Coordination Manager. He is now responsible for all field crew and machinery job allocations, as well as for machinery purchasing and maintenance scheduling. It’s a job he has taken to with great enthusiasm. When asked why he has chosen to stay with CEC Group for all these years, Blue has a simple answer:
"This is the best place to be!"
