Indigenous Employment Policy

Introduction

CEC Group is committed to providing a working environment where diversity and culture are respected and valued.

CEC Group seeks to ensure that the right person is selected for employment by using merit-based selection techniques at all times. We are committed to giving every potential applicant equal opportunity to apply for positions, and ensuring that all processes are free from discrimination.

Principles

CEC Group is dedicated to creating a working environment where indigenous people are supported and encouraged to contribute, learn and grow. CEC Group has a Training Coordinator specialising in indigenous training and employment participation, and indigenous mentors within the workforce.

CEC Group recognise and understand that our presence in remote communities provides us with the unique opportunity to contribute in a positive manner, to give back to the local people, and in doing so, further our own insight.

Aims

When feasible, CEC will employ and offer training to local people from the communities in which we operate.

CEC Group strives to not only meet legislative indigenous employment policies but, wherever possible, to volunteer our time and resources to make a difference to the communities in which we work.

It is the long term goal of CEC Group to train indigenous workers with skills and knowledge that they can pass on to others within their community.
