Included within the overall works is the widening of the bridge over Blackfellow Creek and significant earthworks and revegetation within the riverine protection zone.

The Avenue$15.9 million subdivision construction of 455 lots
Sited on a cane farm the subdivision was developed, in a joint venture between CEC Group and BGI, in 14 stages over 3½ years involving 40 hectares of clearing and grubbing, 50,000m3 of imported fill, 65,000m2 of road pavement, 6km of sewer reticulation, 6km of stormwater reticulation, 9km of electrical and Telstra reticulation, 7km of water reticulation, and $1m construction, turfing and landscaping of Sawpit Gully.
Riverstone Hills$14 million subdivision construction of 468 lots
Sited on a cane farm purchased by CEC Group, the subdivision was developed in 12 stages over 4 years involving 50 hectares of clearing and grubbing, 150,000m3 of cut to fill, 50,000m2 of road pavement, 7km of sewer reticulation, 6km of stormwater reticulation, 9km of electrical and Telstra reticulation, 7km of water reticulation, and 45,000m2 of turfing and landscaping. Included within the subdivision is significant earthworks, revegetation and landscaping within the riverine protection zone of O’Leary’s Creek as well as the upgrade of Draper Road and the intersection with the Bruce Highway.
Oceans Edge Residential Estate – Stage 1, Palm Cove, Cairns$7.3 million development of 100 executive style residential lots
This site was part of the old Novotel golf course and the clients brief was to retain as much of the existing vegetation onsite. Significant works are required within a riverine protection zone or old creek bed. External works to provide services to the new subdivision include water main, power and road upgrades. The site is surrounded by a hotel and resort complex and CEC has had to coordinate works to minimise the impact on the hotel guests. The new estate also has extensive landscaping works including artificial lakes, dry creek beds, BBQ’s and mangrove boardwalks.
Northpoint Residential Estate – Stage 1, Smithfield, Cairns$7.9 million development of 74 residential lots and 14 commercial lots
Originally a cane farm, over 100,000 cubic metres of fill was relocated on the site to provide level lots ready for building construction. A 500m dual lane arterial road was constructed including major street lighting, in addition to 1.5 km of residential roads. A sewer pump station capable of servicing the entire subdivision was installed, in addition to a large capacity gross pollutant trap for sediment control of stormwater. Stormwater drainage up to 1650mm diameter was required externally.
